Hey man! Glad you checked back in with Stuck in the '70s! I'm constantly updating something or other. Please take note below of what was updated when. If you'd like to be notified of updates, please write to me at updates@stuckinthe70s.com and put "updates" in the subject line. Thanks, man!

Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 -- Hey, anybody who's checkin' this out. I've done lots of updating since last May! Just haven't put it on this page. I have, however, been trying to keep everyone updated on my Blog. That Blog will serve as my "Updates" site from now on. I'll probably be more likely to write there and tell you what's going on with the site and with me being in 2005 but stuck in 1975 on there. So, please visit my blog!

Thursday, May 19, 2005 -- Wow! Stuff's been happening here too fast to keep up with on the "What's New?" page! Let me try to give it to you in a large nutshell. I have been updating the site, but haven't included that info here on the "What's New?" page. I've been going in almost daily and adding to the Magazines in the "Hip Mags" section. I'm also selling a number of those 1970s teen magazines in my Ebay store at any given time, so keep checking and you might find the one you've been looking for. You know, the one you cut all up into bits and glued to your closet door and now wish you had in tact?
Also, we're getting over 7,000 hits a day here at Stuck in the '70s and some attention is being drawn to the site so that promoters from various agencies have gotten in touch with me. Through them, I'm able to offer some cool free stuff for you while promoting '70s-related things. Some of that includes the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dukes of Hazzard movie, Smokey Robinson's new CD and Styx's new CD! So, stay tuned because we have all that to look forward to within the next few weeks!

Tuesday, April 26, 2005 -- Well, I've been updating but haven't written about it! I've been in touch with Daryl "The Captain" Dragon, and he's given me some exciting news, which you can find in the Truckin' On Department on the main page of the site. As one of the "original" C&T fans, I must say I'm extremely excited about these new developments! I'll keep you abreast of the latest news as I get it from Mr. Dragon.
I've been working on the "Hip Mags" magazine pages and scanning in tons of stuff from all the teen idol magazines I have collected from the '70s. Right now, I'm working on 1977, but the other years are also chock full of pinups and articles about all your faves. Keep checking back for more.
I've also updated the main diary page with news about Buster and my junior high school boyfriend, Stacy. I've gotten some sad news about Stacy. You can find it there on the Diary Who's Who page.

Thursday, March 31, 2005 -- Howdy! Boy, have I been up to a lot lately! I didn't write in here yesterday to update you on the updates, but I've been updatin'! Ha, ha. Yesterday, I updated the "Photos" page with some more pix from the 1970s out of our family album. I also scanned in more stuff for the Magazines pages in 1970, 1973, 1974 and 1977. I'd also like to ask David Cassidy fans to quit complaining about the scarcity of him on this site. He's all over those magazines pages, so check it out!!!
Today and yesterday I've been finally going through my two sheds and finding all kinds of stuff. Much of it I'm keeping, of course. But, I've found stuff from the '70s and '80s that I've been putting up on eBay. I'll keep adding more as I find it. So, keep checking. Most of it is stuff I've had since I was a kid.

Monday, March 14, 2005 -- The Lost Episodes -- My oldest son was looking through the cabinets under the coffee table this weekend. He found a little "composition memo book" and told me it said inside "The True Story of a Vacation Spent in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas." Wow. Here was just a few days of entries that I made into a "special" diary that year. While still writing in my regular diary, I planned to document in great detail the agony of having to spend two weeks in rural Arkansas and leave my 15-year-old world in the mecca of Peoria, Illinois (aspiring writer). There are more of these things hidden somewhere around here. That includes the "junk drawer" that I refer to in 1977 and 1978. I swear, once the sheds get cleaned out, I'll find all that, including the love letters from Stacy (now deceased) in 1977-78 and the transcripts from the phone conversations with Buster. Promise -- or "natch" as they'd say in Tiger Beat -- I'll share them with you as they're found. At any rate ... those of you who've visited the diary before, go to the July 1978 entries, and you can read the added stuff.
Also, I'm adding your links and suggestions all the time. Keep on exploring.

Wednesday, March 9, 2005 -- All day today has been spent posting stuff to Ebay. Most of it is '70s related, so I hope you'll go check it out and see if there's anything you might like. Tomorrow, I'll do some more Ebaying, plus work on some updates to the site. Check the blog for more pertinent info. :)

Tuesday, March 8, 2005 -- I hate having to be in the 21st century sometimes! It's really bringin' me down at times. I haven't had much time to update the site lately. Today I added to the "Contests" page with Donny and Cocker. Check it out and enter to win!
Also, I've been looking into that Bargain Basement thing. The T-shirts aren't going to be good enough to sell. I washed one, and it got kinda washed out. So, I don't want to sell you any subpar products. However, I am slowly going through the closets and sheds and finding some of my stuff from the '70s that I want to get rid of. I will be adding the Bargain Basement page within a week and post some things you can buy if the spirit moves you.
As for what's going on in the '70s Chick's life, aside from the site, you're welcome to take a peek at my blog. I'll try not to say anything that'll get me sued, but you can count on me to be candid.

Wednesday, March 2, 2005 -- Boy. A lot of stuff has been happening! I've been updating the site here and there, but haven't added anything to this here "What's New" page or my Blog. So, now's the time. It's getting to where I'm having the opportunity to hold more and more neat contests for '70s stuff, and they're taking up my whole front page. Therefore, I've added a "Contests" page where I'll have ongoing contests. Last night I picked the winners for the "Lidsville" DVDs and the Soul Showcase Collection DVDs. Their prizes will be send out this week. We still have the Dungeons and Dragons computer game contest going on, and soon, I'll be giving away a couple of copies of Donny Osmond's new CD "What I Meant to Say" and Joe Cocker's new CD that is chock full of remakes of your fave '70 songs. Look for that within the next couple of days.
Also, I've been up to something and am working out a way to create some special T-shirts, pillow cases and other things for you with the Stuck in the '70s logo and your favorite pinups from the Tiger Beat '70s. Be looking for the Bargain Basement coming soon! There, I'll sell '70s apparel with your choice of our logo, David Cassidy, Tony DeFranco, Donny Osmond, Andy & David Williams, Christopher Knight, Leif Garrett, Erik Estrada and others. You'll get to choose from several different pinups which will be featured on the front of the T-shirt, and our Web site address will be displayed in small print on the back of the shirts. All money raised through the '70s Bargain Basement will go toward keeping this site up and running. In the future, I will be adding books of my brother Mike's Joey cartoons, my diary and my mom's recipes. So, as you can see, there's a lot going on here. Stay tuned!

Stuck in the '70s on eBay

Support the site! I'm now offering some of my '70s collection of teen idol magazines, like Tiger Beat, on Ebay. I'll be adding more '70s collectibles in the near future. Check it out by clicking the Ebay logo above! All proceeds will go toward keeping the site up and active.

Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 -- I did indeed update the blog yesterday. I think. Gosh. I've slept since then. I've been enjoying the e-mails you've been sending and the great questions you have regarding my site. The ones I've received lately show that some of you are really digging in and reading the diary and such. I'll be posting some answers soon to your unanswered questions about the diary and the parts that may have left you hanging. In the meanwhile, every time I get online I'll try to remember to turn on my Yahoo! messenger. If you're on there, look for "stuckinthe70s" and give me a holler. I'd love to "chat" (as the kids say now a days) with ya!

Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 -- OK. I've broken my promise on the blog today. I'm way too tired and I'm gonna hit the sack. So, I'll keep you in suspense. I've been ebaying today and adding to my "Hip Mags." There's a whole new page on 1978 and some more covers from 1977.

Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 -- Well, I've quit the job. The times, they are a changin'. I won't go into detail here, but I do plan to update everyone on my blog tomorrow. Stick around!!

Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 -- I've just updated the '70s Chick page. It's been a hell of a week at work. I won't comment further. I'm just taking solace(sp) in the fact that I can get lost in the '70s on my Web site and there are people out there who actually identify. When it's been a rough day or week, we can escape here. I hope you'll keep coming back and keep e-mailing me. Let me know what's up in your world and why you want to escape '05! Check the blog. I'll be ranting there.

Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 -- Wow. I've been really adding stuff over the past week to the Hip Mags page -- especially 1972. Also, we're running two contests at once. I've started today one to give away the Soul Showcase DVD collection. Three of the four movies in it were made in the '70s. The other, Bustin' Loose, features Richard Pryor of my hometown, Peoria, Ill., and it was made in 1981, the year I graduated from high school, so I would sure say it qualifies as Stuck in the '70s material! That Chris Knight interview was postponed, but stay tuned, and I'll let you know when it's gonna happen!

Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 -- Would you believe the excitement just keeps on here at Stuck in the '70s? Today's big news? I'll be interviewing Christopher Knight, best known as Peter Brady from The Brady Bunch, on Wed. Feb. 9 by phone!! Back in October when I learned he'd be featured on VH1's Surreal Life I was excited and couldn't wait to watch! Now, it seems all of America's watching, and Chris is back, lookin' good as ever! I'll put the audio of my interview here on the site, on the "Audio Files" page by the end of next week for your listening pleasure. In the meanwhile, if you have any questions you're dying to ask Chris, drop me a line at julie@stuckinthe70s.com, and I'll do my best to ask him for you!
Tonight, I've been updating and adding to my '70s Links page. If you have a Web site that is '70s-related and would like it featured here on Stuck in the '70s, send it to me at links@stuckinthe70s.com, I'll check out your site and get 'er done! Keep on checkin' back with me!
The Blog -- For those of you who have gotten into my '70s diary and want to know what's going on in my boring personal life now, I'll give you a sneakie peek on the blog. Check it out

Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 -- Ellyn Glynn of Delaware and Jolie Hamer-Conroy of New Jersey have been chosen as the winners of the Dazed & Confused DVD party packs! I'll be mailing those out a week from today, Feb. 7. (Gotta wait till pay day, don'tcha know?) Be sure to go back to the front page of the site and enter our Lidsville contest, now going on. You'll have to answer a trivia question that shouldn't be too tough for Krofft fans.
Things are developing rapidly here at Stuck in the '70s. I've been getting a lot of e-mail from you, saying you're enjoying the changes and additions. Keep checking back as I'll be adding more and more stuff. As Chucky Baby Barris of the Gong Show used to say, "We'll be back with more STUFF!"

Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 -- Things are goin' great! I've now got a page up for my Butch Patrick interview. Look at some of my magazine clippings of him as a teen idol and listen to what he has to say about the crazy world of Lidsville. Then, check back tomorrow night and enter our contest to win the Lidsville DVDs!!!!

Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 -- Well, more and more stuff going on all the time here at Stuck in the '70s! We're about to close our "Dazed & Confused" contest in a few days and begin our "Lidsville" contest. This is way cool. You remember all the great Sid & Marty Krofft shows from 1970s Saturday mornings right? "Lidsville," "H.R. Pufnstuf," "Land of the Lost" and my personal fave, "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters." Butch Patrick, formerly Eddie Munster on "The Munsters," will be featured later this week here on Stuck in the '70s in a phone interview I'll be conducting Wed. Jan. 26. If you have any questions you'd like me to ask Butch, e-mail them to me at julie@stuckinthe70s.com before bedtime tomorrow night Jan. 25. Then, enter our Lidsville contest, and you may be taken off to the crazy land of the big, walking, talking hats!

Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 -- Hi there! I've been doing daily updates on the site this week and hope to keep that up. There's all kinds of stuff going on here at Stuck in the '70s. The diaries are fixed, and there should be no more broken links or pictures, and you should be able to access the whole diary without any troubles now. Please report any broken links or missing images to me at webmaster@stuckinthe70s.com. I'll be digging around in the old shed this weekend to find my 1980 and 1981 diaries so I can finalize the whole works by wrapping up my high school years in response to all the requests I've gotten to do just that.
I'm scanning in more and more of my teen magazines, so be sure to keep checking the Hip Mags section for new pinups and articles.
Tonight, I'll be updating more of the pages with the links you've been sending in.
I've gotten an onslaught of entries for the "Dazed & Confused" DVD contest. Come to find out, my site was featured on an online sweepstakes subscription service. People pay to be a "member" of that site, and then they are turned on to all of the sites on the Web that are offering freebies. So, they enter and are bound to win  something. I think that's kinda cool that I've been featured on that site, but somehow, the whole thing is not fair to my loyal visitors. I've had over 400 entries in the contest, and most of them are coming in from that online sweepstakes site and not even checking out Stuck in the '70s. So, although it may seem like a wienie of me, I'm going to do my best to choose the winners of the "Dazed and Confused" and future contests only from those who I know are true followers of this site that are also stuck in the '70s. Look for the winners' names to be announced on Jan. 31. Also, look for the next contest, a DVD set of a very fun Sid and Marty Krofft show that you'll remember from   your childhood in the '70s, coming very soon!

Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 -- Hey y'all! I've spent more time than I meant to tonight, updating the diary and fixing the broken links. I'll get that finished one day soon. Meanwhile -- ALL OF THE '70S ARE DONE in my diary!!!! You may find a time or two when you're not able to access all of it due to heavy traffic (cool). But, keep trying. You'll get there! This weekend, I'll break into the old shed and find the early '80s and get the rest of the high school years going. For the latest, in addition to what you find here on the What's New page, tune into the blog occasionally!
I've added more Tiger Beats. So, scrounge through the Hip Mags department, and you're bound to find something on your fave!

Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 -- I updated the site early yesterday morning. Had a big time staying up all night, working on my diary and such! I've almost got it all done without the broken links and pix, etc. All of 1974 is done, and I've entere a big chunk of 1975. I've still got 1976 to do, then we can move on to 1980 and a little bit of 1981 for those who have expressed interest in me finishing "the high school years." Hope you'll stick with me, and tell your buds who are also stuck in the '70s!!

Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 -- Well, time for another update! I've been Stuck in the '70s tonight fer sure! I've been having fun scanning in some of my old Tiger Beat magazines. All the ones I've scanned in tonight are from 1972. Check it out. I'm going to be scanning all of the magazines I have and including all the pinups and many of the articles, including some of the obscure stars you probably haven't heard of since and won't be able to find anywhere else on  the internet. Feel free to save the pictures yourself, print them out and plaster your walls (just don't use Elmer's Glue or you'll tick off your Dad -- speaking from experience). Tonight I was excited to run across an article about Randy Jackson, the youngest member of the Jackson 5 family. Eat your heart out to my ex (like he is ever going to look at this -- we had an argument about Randy, and this shows I was right). Keep checking back often for more updates!!

Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 -- Boy, I've had some interesting ideas over the past day or two! There's so much I want to do with and add to Stuck in the '70s. I've been working on the site over the weekend and am adding more and more daily. I've changed the front page tonight. I think you'll like it. On the left, we've got the basic introduction that won't change much very often. It welcomes "newbies" to the site and tells you what this site is about and why you're probably here. On the right is a new section called "Truckin' On" Department. This is one I have been unable to figure out how I wanted to do or how I would define it until now. At first, I thought of calling it "'70s News," but that is rather boring. So, I wanted it to be, like, we're in the '00s, but in touch with the '70s on a daily basis. We're accused of being Stuck in the '70s, but by God, we're still truckin' on with life and dealing with the 21st century as it comes. Every time I watch the news or entertainment channels, I see things that somehow relate to the '70s. Whether it's one of my teen idols resurfacing in a new show or movie or a new movie or show that somehow relates to the '70s. This is the spot where I'll post ongoing stuff at least once a week about "What's going on right now that has to do with the 1970s." Cool, huh? Man, what a concept!! It's, like, reality, man, but yet it's still escape!!! Far out!!  You'll be amazed at how many things in our everyday life right now have SOMETHING to do with the '70s!!! Check on this section regularly for what's going on NOW in the '70s!
Also updated today:

  • Toys page -- Amazing Kreskin's ESP board "game" added.
  • Diary 1974 -- 1974 is now complete! Look for 1976 and 1975 over the next week!

New Year's Day 2005 -- Thank God 2004 is over!!! It basically sucked! I welcome the new year and a chance for a better time. Today, I've put Tony DeFranco's interview back on the Audio Files page. This time, I edited it myself, listened to the whole thing numerous times in doing so, and I think everything is fine and dandy! So, check it out the way it was meant to be!!
Don't forget to enter our New Year's "Dazed and Confused" contest!!

Christmas Eve 2004 -- Well, I'm making myself useful while being snowed in this holiday weekend! You'll be excited to know (I know I sure am) that I've put back the audio files page with new interviews. As soon as I bone up on the audio editor, I will edit the Tony DeFranco interview myself and include it as well. Meanwhile, listen to the phone interviews with the Captain and Tennille and Donny Osmond by going to the Audio Files page!
I've also heard from Leif Garrett's people, and they asked me to let you know about his Christmas single. Check out the front page for that info. I'm hoping to arrange an interview with Leif very soon.

Monday, December 20, 2004 -- Congrats to our contest winners in the Buck Rogers DVD give-away! Your DVDs are on their way! Now, even more exciting news -- "Dazed & Confused" DVDs!!! This is the most accurate depiction of 1976 as far as I'm concerned. See our front page to enter this New Year's contest!

Monday, December 13, 2004 -- Hey man! How's it goin' with y'all? I've been enjoying updating my teen magazines (Hip Mags) pages tonight. I've fixed the server mess and restored what was there. I've got lots more Tiger Beat, Teen Beat, Fave and 16 magazines to upload for your viewing pleasure. If you have any special requests about teen idols' clippings you'd like to see, let me know. I'll look for stuff on them in the magazines and post it just for you! Soon, I'll be updating the Idols page as well.

Sunday, December 5, 2004 -- What a weekend. I was going to work on the site something, but personal matters have interfered. Guess what, groovy chicks and dudes? I'm about to be single again. The husband packed up his stuff today and moved out. Yup. Well, that's a new record for me. Seven months. Not to worry ... the boys and I will be OK. Now I can really concentrate on this web site and plan to devote more time to it. Stay tuned ...

Current Tiger Beat magWednesday December 1, 2004 -- Hey there! Happy Holidays everyone! OK, I'm over the Tony DeFranco thing. Tony sent me an e-mail and accepted my apology. I hope he doesn't mind me quoting his e-mail when he wrote: "We all make mistakes...I've made my fair share." If there's one thing I've learned from all this it's Tony DeFranco is human. So, girls, those of you reading Tiger Beat nowadays and drooling over Jesse McCartney or Chad What's-His-Face, take note -- the guy's just a guy.
OK, anyhoo, WHAT'S NEW here at Stuck in the '70s, you ask? Contests! I've started the first one today. Enter to win the complete Buck Rogers in the 25th Century DVD box set. This series aired 1979-81. Those are some good years. See the front page for the contest details.
In other business, I'm adding links to stuff and pictures on my Memories page and several of the other pages. The site is coming back to life after that terrible server crash earlier this year, so stay tuned.
In the personal news, my Dad is recovering very nicely from his Sept. 28 surgery for bladder cancer. We had some really rough days during the recovery, but he's home and doing quite well now. We made it through Thanksgiving and the Nov. 23 anniversary of my mother's passing, and we're looking forward to a beautiful Christmas. Thank you to all who offered prayers and support to me and my family. It really means a lot. I wish you the best Christmas season ever and hope Santa is really good to you!

Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 -- PUBLIC APOLOGY TO TONY DEFRANCO FOR STUPID, STUPID MISTAKEOh man -- I've never felt like such a blooming idiot in my entire life! Pull up a bean bag chair, and let me tell you about it.
Just a little background: Early this year, my husband-to-be (a radio producer) suggested I make a radio show from the stuff on my Web site. I did and we did. I used phone interviews with the Captain and Tennille, Jim Stafford, Donny Osmond, Mickey Dolenz, Davy Jones and others in the show. Jim (the fiance) edited them all up nice for me and put the shows together (they'll be available soon on this site and have run numerous times on an Internet radio station). We put together 10 great shows with '70s music, trivia and stuff about my life in the '70s, along with the great interviews. Well, people wanted more, so I sought out more of my favorite '70s stars to try to interview and include. I was lucky enough to get my very favorite from the early '70s, Tony DeFranco, to agree to a phone interview. I talked with Tony back in February, and he was very kind, polite and accomodating.
Just after that, stuff kind of hit the fan around our household. Jim and I both lost our day jobs and were scrambling to make ends meet in some other way while dealing with various other garbage. At any rate, that's no excuse ... but we never got around to putting together any more of Stuck in the '70s radio shows. Jim put my taped interview with Tony on a CD at my request and handed it to me. When he gave it to me (I hadn't listened back to it), he said, "You sound like a giddy 12-year-old girl. I've never heard you so excited." Well, he was right, and I was so embarrassed, I couldn't stand to listen back to the interview myself, and I never have.
Later in the summer, I switched servers for my site, giving us much more Web storage space, so I decided I would start putting audio on the site. Because I could see my interview with Tony was the smallest file size, I thought I'd start with it to see if it was going to work. So, I thought, "The fans will love this -- an unedited phone interview with Tony DeFranco!"
Problem is, I had forgotten two VERY important things. I had told Tony my husband would edit it before we used it because he is very good at all that stuff (and he IS); and I forgot that Tony had, in good faith, given me some personal information in that interview that he didn't want everyone in the entire doggone world to know.
Yes, you guessed it. Me, the DUMBASS, just uploaded that sucker, proudly said, "Look what I can do!!" and didn't think for a moment about those two things.
I violated Tony's trust; and now I have probably managed to become the least favorite person of someone who compelled me to spend every allowance on Tiger Beat magazines. (Heck, I'm still paying 15 bucks apiece on Ebay for them.) If I'd have ever thought Tony DeFranco would know who I was, I'd have died. Now he DOES, and I do just want to die! UGH!
Just as soon as I got an e-mail from Tony yesterday, pointing out my terrible snafu, I removed the DeFranco interview page that was linked from the audio page. Then, I made it worse and told him I thought I'd uploaded the unedited version. How could I explain that it was just out of stupidity and forgetfulness that I put that interview up there with his personal information? It sure wasn't out of any kind of spite or hatefulness or disrespect. It was just because I'm a moron.
OK, if you're still following along, I want Tony and everyone reading this to know that I truly, truly, truly, truly, truly, truly feel like crap for having uploaded that audio file to my site without listening back to it and without asking my husband to go ahead and edit it for me. I feel as though Shrek or someone really huge has kicked me right in the chest and knocked the wind out of me.
I've learned my lesson, but possibly at Tony's expense and may have even threatened his safety and most certainly his privacy. If you are one of the (hopefully) few who listened to the interview on my site and took the time to jot down that personal information and act on it -- don't do it again! There's no need to make the situation worse.
OK, I guess I've said about all I can about that. Now I just pray Tony will forgive me -- and I'll pray, like the scarecrow, for a brain.
My Dad --As many of you know, Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September. He's still in the hospital today, but he is finally starting to progress. Thank you to everyone who has offered prayers and support. It has really helped.

Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 -- Hi guys! Man! Can you believe we're halfway through October already? I've even heard people talking about their Christmas shopping. Well, we've had some health problems in the family, but everyone is on the mend, and I'm hoping to spend this weekend updating the site and Indie Oddeo's site as well. My hubby, Jim, has all kinds of stuff going on as well, so you can check out his site for that this weekend. We're starting to get ready for Halloween -- our favorite holiday! Shame it ain't what it used to be in the '70s!
I've not had the chance to update the Joey cartoons or anything else lately. Been spending all my "spare" time at the hospital with Dad. Looks like he's going to get to go home in several days, and then I'll get back on the ball. I'm anxious to put up some more old family pictures, recipes and stuff about growing up in the midwest in the '70s. My brother, Mike, has recommended some particular recipes from our Mom's collection, and those will be the first to go up here. So, thanks again for your patients, and I hope you'll keep checking back!!

Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 -- Hey everyone. More updates are coming shortly, hopefully. Just wanted to let those who have come attached to the site and grown involved in my diary know some inside info. My dad was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor a little over a week ago. It is treatable, but Dad will undergo some MAJOR, MAJOR surgery tomorrow (Sept. 28). So, if you would, please keep him in your thoughts (or prayers if you're so inclined). After losing Mom last Thanksgiving, it all scares the crap out of me. The more the prayers we can send up, the better, and maybe Dad will be all recovered and strong by the time Mike moves here to Arkansas in another five months. I'll keep you all updated on my blog. See link on front page or further down this page. Mike's Joey cartoon will be updated just as soon as I get the chance!

Labor Day 2004 -- Welcome chicks and dudes! Things are shaping up. I'd hoped to spend this entire 3-day weekend updating the site, but real life does screw things up sometimes. So, I have today -- it's almost noon, and I've been at it for several hours while all of the men in my life sleep in. I'm excited about the changes I'm making today. Here's what they are:

  • Joey Comics: These are comic strips drawn by my brother, Mike Fidler. They are all based on our childhood, growing up in the '70s in a suburban midwestern area. I'll be adding a new strip each week. I'll also feature some of Mike's other artwork on this page.
  • Family Photo Album: This is going to be a whole lot of fun and an ongoing, never-ending project. On this page I'll put actual photos from our family photo albums. I'll crop nothing -- so you'll be able to see all that tacky avacado stuff in the background. Each photo will have it's own caption, written by yours truly, of course!!
  • Family Recipes: I'm going to put some of my Mom's most-delicious recipes here. I'll also put some up from other relatives, who gave me these recipes in the '70s. Break out the fondue pots!
  • Memories of Mossville: This one I'm not sure how it'll end up. Probably some pictures, links, articles....Just to let you in on those "wonder years" in Central Illinois.

Aug. 31, 2004 -- For an up-to-the-minute "state of the site" address, please check out my blog!

Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 -- Wow. Boys and girls ... I think I'm about to stop crying now. I've lost a big portion of the Web site in a server transfer. Looking on the bright side, the site is going to be so much bigger and better now, once I get everything restore. So, I hope you loyal visitors will stick with me.The diary pages are still in tact. I'm going to rebuild many of the pages. So, if you have a link that was on a specific page, please resubmit it to me at stuckinthe70s@yahoo.com, and I will put you back on. If not, well, you may be left out and I will move on because I'm trying to quit fretting about it. Things are good, and in the long run, Stuck in the '70s is going to be a much better site.
